Modification of polymer SDB-g-MMA with acrylonitrile by pre-irradiation grafting
The SDB-g-MMA-AN was prepared by pre-irradiation grafting of acrylonitrile (AN) on MMA ring of SDB-g-MMA under initiation of SDB-g-MMAO,2,∙ radical produced from irradiation of SDB-g-MMA in air by γ-rays. The pre-irradiation grafting of AN was confirmed with the sample of SDB-g-MMA-AN characterized by FT-IR and the grafting ratios at different absorbed doses obtained. Based on the results measured by XRD and SEM, it could be revealed that acrylonitrile side-chain played an important role in improving properties of SDB-g-MMA-AN. It has been found that both radiation degradation and oxidation of SDB-g-MMA are involved in the irradiation process. And the structure model of SDB-g-MMA-AN molecule has been presumed.
