Study on autophagy phenomenon in U251 cells irradiated by X-rays
In order to investigate the effects of autophagy on proliferation inhibition in human U251 glioma cells irradiated by X-rays, WST-1 colorimetric assay, MDC staining and LC3 Immunohistochemistry were used. It has been found that X-rays can decrease the viability of U251 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner by WST-1 colorimetric assay and induce autophagy in U251 cells confirmed by MDC staining and LC3 immunoreactivty. The results showed that X-rays could inhibit the proliferation significantly and induced autophagy of U251 cells.
