STUDY ON THERMAL OXIDATIVE DEGRADATION OF CABLE INSULATION MATERIALS USED IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY
Oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide evolution for EPR, PE, PVC and CSM as the cable insulation materials after irradiation and thermal aging were measured by using gas chromatograph in order to study the lifetime prediction. CO,2, evolution increases linearly with O,2, consumption. The apparent activation energy for these materials varies between 68kJ/mol and 133kJ/mol. Reaction mechanism was discussed.
