恢复系辐恢838是利用,60,Co γ射线辐照干种子与变种间聚合杂交的方法经过15y时间选育而成的。选育经过:,60,Co γ射线辐照“泰引一号”选育出的早熟突变株系辐恢06,与大粒糯稻株系80182杂交,选择育成糯稻恢复系226;,60,Co γ射线辐照明恢63干种子,选择早熟突变系 r552;再用226与r552杂交,选择测恢,于1990年获得恢复度高、杂种优势强的株系90838,1994年通过技术鉴定,命名辐恢838,[1],。
Fuhui 838, an indica restorer in rice, was developed after 15 years breeding by ways of irradiation and crossing. It has been used by a number of Chinese institutes of rice research and 15 hybrid rice combinations have been bred from Fuhui 838. The first hybrid rice combination of restorer Fuhui 838 is II You 838, which has high yield, better adaptability and outstanding ability to resist rice diseases in extremely hot weather. II You 838 is now the most popular hybrid rice in china. Up to 2003, all combinations of Fuhui 838 have been planted in an accumulative area of 13 million hectares all over China, among them 10 M is II You 838.
