In order to explore the variety of cell proliferation and cell cycle after exposure to ionizing radiation, the responses of irradiated KG-1 cells of the human myeloid leukemia stimulated by GM-CSF, the most common used cytokine in clinic, were investigated. The results showed that GM-CSF enhance KG-1 cells prolifration, reduce G0/G1 block, increase S phase and G2/M phase. The stimulation effects of the GM-CSF is more effective in irradiated group than in control group.
