Using time-resolved laser photolysis techniques, it has been demonstrated that fullerol of C,70,unlike some other fullerene derivatives, does not result in excited triplet state but in ionization via monophotonic process with 248 nm laser. The quantum yield of formation of hydrated electrons (Φ,e-,) is determined at room temperature (about 15℃) in neutral aqueous solution with KI solution used as reference.
