The functional condition of bone marrow vessels was investigated by estimating the content of Evan's Blue, the plasma volume and the total blood volume in the bone marrow of the mice iv injected with Evan's Blue.,The results showed that 6 hr later after 10 Gy total body irradiation the injuries of bone marrow vessels could be observed. It reached the peak at the 3 rd day post-irradiation. on the 10th day post-exposure, the functional condition of bone marrow vessels remained abnormal. At early stage after a local X-irradiation, the damagcs of bone marrow vessels occured. They were similar to that after total body irradiation. At the late stage, the content of dye, the plasma volume and the total blood volume were below the control level. The significance of this finding in hemopoletic failure after irradiation was discussed.
