In this paper,ESR techniques of spin trapping and spin counteraction were used to determine the relative yields of ,1,O,2,O,2,·-, and anion radical produced during photosensitization of hypocrellin B (HB) and its brominated products (5—Br—HB and 5,8—diBr—HB). It was found that monobromination did not increase the yield of ,1,O,2, of HB and dibromination enhanced the yield of ,1,O,2, about 20%,but decreased its ability of generating O,2,•-, and anion radical through electron transfer at same time.
