The broken noni was extracted with 95% ethanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol in order. The n-butanol extraction was separated by silica gel column chromatography and ODS column chromatography to get single rutin and flavonoid glycosides. Different-concentration extraction, monomer rutin, and flavanol glycoside in protecting spleen lymphocytes and liver cells of Wistar rats from gamma-ray irradiation were observed. The cells were irradiated by gamma-rays with absorbed dose of 10 Gy (1 Gy/min). MTT method was used to detect the cell survival rate at 24, 36, and 48 h after irradiation. The results showed that different cell survival rates varied at 100%−400% according to different polar fractions, which were significantly higher than those in the control group (p<0.0001). The noni extracts has anti-radiation effect, and can be deemed as radioprotective agents.Cited
