We aim to investigate the effect and mechanism of resveratrol on radiosensitivity of lung cancer A549 cells. MTT was used to detect the cell toxicity of different concentrations of resveratrol on lung cancer A549 cells; clonogenic assay was performed to determine the function of growth inhibition. The DNA damage was detected by the comet assay. Western blot was taken to detect the expression level of Survivin. The results showed that the inhibitory effect of resveratrol on A549 cells increased with resveratrol concentration and time; the combined effect of resveratrol and radiation significantly increased the DNA damage of A549 cells induced by radiation(p<0.05), and reduced cloning efficiency as well as the expression level of Survivin. It can be concluded that resveratrol can enhance the radiation sensitivity of A549 cells, and maybe the radiosensitizing effect is achieved by suppressing the expression of Survivin protein.Cited
