In this paper the different protein expression of BALF in rats inhaled radon was analyzed by use of two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE). Male Wistar rats were exposed to radon with the cumulative dose up to 200 working level month (WLM), then the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was collected and the total proteins were extracted. 2-DE was employed to isolate the total proteins of BALF. The gels were stained with silver and differential protein expressions were analyzed with Image Master 2D Platinum software. The total protein spots in the gels of the control and radon-inhaled rats were 654 and 554 respectively, containing 48 differential protein spots in which 23 expressed and obviously increased in the control group and 25 expressed and obviously increased in rats radon-inhaled group. The results indicate that the protein expression of BALF between rats radon-inhaled and the control are different to some extent.
