In this paper we describe an improved alkaline filter elution-fluorometric method for detection cell DNA radiation damage and its repair. We used screw clamp in place of peristaltic pump to adjust elution rate acquired the same results. The influence of some factors on this method was also studied.,Immediately after r-ray irradiation (5~30 Gy) of L,7712, cells, it was shown a significant nagative linear relationship between doses and the percentage of DNA remaining on the filter. The repair of damaged DNA could also be measured by our method. This improved method had good reproducibility, sensitivity and could proceed in batch analysis of samples.
