    • Research on outcome and safety of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for radiation dermatitis in breast cancer

    • Experts from Tangshan People's Hospital carried out a prospective study to evaluate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in the treatment of radiation dermatitis (RD) after modified radical surgery for breast cancer. 300 breast cancer patients from December 2023 to December 2024 were randomly divided into control group and test group. The control group received general acute RD intervention, while the experimental group received HBOT on this basis. Follow up for 12 weeks showed that during the period of W8~W12, the acute RD grade, DLQI, and Skindrex-29 were all lower in the experimental group, and there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events. Studies have proved that HBOT is effective and safe in treating acute RD in breast cancer patients, and has clinical application value.
