Effect of electron beam irradiation on pest control, mold prevention, and quality of lotus seeds
“Experts have studied the effects of electron beam irradiation on lotus seeds and found that 0.4 kGy irradiation can effectively inhibit egg hatching. After 180 days of storage at 2 kGy, the total number of bacterial colonies and mold count were both below 100 CFU/g, providing a scientific basis for the prevention and control of pests and mold in lotus seed storage.”
