    • Effect of electron beam irradiation on pest control, mold prevention, and quality of lotus seeds

    • Experts have studied the effects of electron beam irradiation on lotus seeds and found that 0.4 kGy irradiation can effectively inhibit egg hatching. After 180 days of storage at 2 kGy, the total number of bacterial colonies and mold count were both below 100 CFU/g, providing a scientific basis for the prevention and control of pests and mold in lotus seed storage.
