Photo-isomerization of 4-[4-(acryloyl)phenylazo]benzene sulfonic acid and hydrogel prepared with photo-polymerization
The photo-physical properties of the water-soluble substituted azobenzene monomer, 4-[4-(acryloyl)phenylazo]benzene sulfonic acid (APABS), have been studied, and the effects of the solvent on its photo-isomerization performance were investigated. With N, N′-methylenebis acrylamide (MBAA) as cross-linking agents, the copolymer hydrogels of APABS and HEA were prepared through photo-polymerization method. The effects of the polymerization temperature on the interior morphology of hydrogels have been examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
