STUDY ON RADIATION CROSSLINKING OF PVC INSULATION MATERIALS PART Ⅱ DGDA EFFECT
This paper reports the effect of difunctional monomer, diethylene glycol diacrylate (DGDA) on radiation crosslinking of PVC.,Crosslinking of PVC proceeds very rapidly during the initial period of irradiation. When the dose reaches 40 kGy, it slows down and the gel content tends to level off. Under the same dose condition, PVC gel content and G value increase with increase of the amount of DGDA.,Radiation Crosslinked PVC has a good insulating property and mechanical property.,By comparing crosslinked PVC with uncrosslinked PVC, the loss weight after thermal aging of crosslinked PVC has a great decrease. But the tensile strength after aging (K,1,) and the elongation after aging (K,2,) of crosslinked PVC have a great increase respectively. It was also found that the heat-resisting property of PVC had been improved after being crosslinked.
