In this paper, a 5-day germination test was used to identify irradiated wheat. Germination rate decreased when radiation dose was up to 3.3 kGy. Nearly no seeds shot at 10 kGy. At 0.5 or 1.0 kGy irradiation did not decrease germination rate. It significantly inhibited the growth of shoots and roots. Shoot length was about 20 mm which could not be elongated by prolonged germination test. The effects of old seeds, post-irradiation storage and wheat varieties on germination were discussed.
