STUDY ON SLOW RELEASED ANTI-CANCER DRUGS (FT-207) BY RADIATION INDUCED POLYMERIZATION
This paper reports the research results which the slow release anticancer drug 1 - (2-tetrahydrofuryl-5-fluorouracil) (FT-207) was made by radiation induced polymerization of monomers such as methacrylates with FT-207 at room temperature. The differences of UV and IR spectrum between drugs irradiated and non-irradiated were not obvious when samples were irradiated with doses less than 16.25 kGy at room temperature. In vitro the rates of drug release were remained stable a few days after administration. In vivo the therapeutic effect was obvious on sarcoma S,180, and Lewis lung cancer in mice when the preparations were embedded hypodermally near the tumor.
